Gilbert Seeyave is currently a Partner of BDO Financial Services. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountant in England and Wales (FCA) and Member of the Tax Faculty, Institute of Chartered Accountant in England, and Wales. He oversees the Tax department and has over 30 years of experience. He is skilled in dealing with personal and Corporate Income Tax, Value Added Tax, Payroll Tax and Double Taxation Avoidance Treaties. He has been assisting clients during tax audits, negotiations with the Mauritius Revenue Authority and helping clients preparing their case before the courts.
His corporate clients range from family-owned businesses to the large companies listed on the Stock Exchange of Mauritius and multinational enterprises operating in Mauritius. They are involved in the Manufacturing, Sugar, Construction, Distribution, Agriculture, Shipping, Hospitality, Banking, Insurance, and Financial Services industries amongst others. Gilbert has been involved in cross-border transactions, corporate Reorganisations and mergers, acquisitions, and due diligence assignments. He also advises individuals including high profile individuals and those relocating to Mauritius. Gilbert is also a regular contributor to the World Bank survey on taxes.
